I promise you, if you like the taste of beetroot and do love chocolate, you will go and lick the last drop of this beetroot chocolate smoothie from your glass.
It’s is like eating a very very good chocolate dessert (chocolate cream or chocolate mousse) without regret. The consistency of this smoothie is very creamy and rich. So make sure you drink it fast before it get’s too heavy. But if you are the same than me, it will be gone in minutes.
Never before I did experiment with the combination of chocolate and beetroot for my smoothies – and I regret it now.
The idea just came to my mind during the post-production of my pictures from the beetroot chocolate cake shooting, I thought why not try it in a smoothie. It’s very healthy, has a lot of vitamins, tastes like dessert and has such a lovely color.
Notice that the recipe is for a BIG smoothie, or you can make two smoothies out of the recipe.
And if you do not use rice milk as I did, you probably have to add a bit of sugar in form of honey or dates. The rice milk I buy is already quite sweet, why I do not need extra sugar for this smoothie.
For those of you who never drunk rice milk before, try it in your morning coffee. I just love the combination and I do not longer need sugar in my coffee!
