Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 395°F/200°C.
  • Carefully peel the pears, but leave the stem intact. Cut in half and scoop out the seeds using a spoon.
  • Mix the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon in a small bowl until evenly combined.
  • Place the pears in a baking dish and pour over the maple syrup mixture. Bake for 20-30 minutes until soft and caramelized.
  • Let them cool for a few minutes and serve each two with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. You can pour a little more maple syrup over the ice cream if you wish.

Notes

  • Keeps Fresh: The bakes pears keep fresh for 4 days. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • Baking Time: Varies on how big and how ripe the pears are. If they are soft after 20 minutes, perfect. Otherwise, bake them for another 10 minutes.
  • What to do with leftovers? Either reheat them in the oven or in a microwave to serve another day as a dessert with ice cream OR use leftovers for overnight oats or porridge.
