French Bread Pizza

Ingredients
 

  • 1 French Bread
  • ½ portion pizza sauce ~ 1 cup
  • ¾ cup (80 g) shredded mozzarella or use 1 ball of freh mozzarella cheese
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • pizza toppings of your choice see notes

Instructions
 

  • Follow this recipe to make a quick homemade pizza sauce, or use any pizza sauce of your choice!
  • Preheat oven to 445°F (230°C).
  • Cut the French bread into thirds (or halves - depending on the size of the bread), then slice lengthwise.
  • Place them with the cut side up on a parchment paper lined baking sheet, spread with pizza sauce, and sprinkle dried oregano on top. You can add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil!
  • Top the bread with pizza toppings, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake your French bread pizza in the oven for 10 minutes until the cheese bubbles.
  • Serve warm! → Top it with fresh basil, chili oil, or red pepper flakes!

Pizza Sauce: Follow my recipe to make a quick homemade pizza sauce. Alternatively, use a store-bought pizza sauce or stir together 1 cup of tomato passata, 1 clove minced garlic, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon sugar, and a pinch.
