Ingredients
- Strawberries: The star of the dressing. Fresh strawberries give the best flavor, but thawed frozen strawberries work well too.
- Olive oil: Adds richness and helps create a smooth, creamy texture.
- Red wine vinegar: Balances the sweetness of the strawberries with a gentle acidity.
- Maple syrup: Lightly sweetens the dressing. You can easily swap it for agave or another liquid sweetener.
- Salt & pepper: Enhance all flavors and keep the dressing well balanced.
- Poppy seeds (optional): Add a subtle nutty flavor and a pleasant crunch for the poppy seed variation.
See recipe card for quantities.
Recipe Variations
- Raspberry vinaigrette: Replace strawberries with fresh or frozen raspberries.
- Citrus twist: Use lemon or lime juice instead of red wine vinegar.
- Oil-free version: Replace the oil with water for a lighter dressing.
- Herby: Add fresh basil for a fragrant twist.
- Savory: Season with garlic or onion powder.
- Sweetener swap: Replace maple syrup with agave nectar or another sweetener of your choice.
