If you buy mango lassi in the supermarket, it comes with a lot of added sugar, which is in my opinion not needed and only makes it harder to keep up with your bikini shape. Therefore, if you like mango lassi, try out my homemade recipe which is done with minimal effort. You only need a few ingredients and a blender.
Lassi is a traditional drink from Indian, which you can have with different kind of fruits. An excellent companion for spicy food, as the milk neutralizes the spicy taste in your mouth. The next time you cook an Indian dish at home, serve this mango lassi with dinner.
The vanilla sugar can be substituted with one teaspoon vanilla extract and one teaspoon sugar. If you like your drink sweet, you can add sugar in the form of coconut blossom syrup, fresh dates or date syrup. And if you don’t like mango, change it with any other fruit you want or is in season.
- 1 mango
- 120 ml buttermilk
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 0.5 lime, only juice
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 5 ice cubes
- Cut all the flesh away from the mango and place it with all other ingredients in a blender. Blend well for one minute until your mango lassi is smooth and creamy. Serve on ice cubes.
- You can store your mango lassi for up to one day in the fridge.
- If the consistency of your mango lassi is too thick, add more ice cubes or cold water.
